"We used Archer Brick and Stone a couple of months ago to repoint the outside of our house and they did a great job. They were professional and reliable throughout, turning up when they said they would and getting the work done to a really high standard. The lads were polite, respectful and always cleaned up properly at the end of the day. Weβve got young kids who loved watching the work from the window, and any questions we had were answered straight away which really put our minds at ease. Really happy with the result and would definitely recommend them."
"We have an old redbrick edwardian house that had had various extensions, it was clear that someone had replaced the original mortar with concrete as this was crumbling or absent and was causing issues with the bricks and potential damp, not to mention each extension had differing levels of damage to the brickwork. I searched for a company that had experience in older properties as I was committed to doing it right and doing it once, jake quickly came round and was here for a good hour chatting through the various issues and reasons for them, I could tell instantly that not only did he know his stuff, he was passionate about it to, we agreed a really fair price which also included free replacement of the worst bricks and a stone sill repair and agreed a date a few months later (always a good sign that he was booked up). We communicated about which type of lime and when the scaffolders could come (which he dealt with entirely) and they turned up exactly when indicated. The guys onsite were great, ridiculously courteous of my neighbours in recognition that the grinding out can create a lot of dust, checking in with both sides regularly and keeping their priorities as clean as they kept mine, brilliant. They all worked hard and got the job done within the agreed timeframe, Jake was onsite regularly to make sure standards were maintained (another great sign). The completed work was even far above what I could have expected, we couldnβt be happier, the house looks completely fresh and joined up, the quality of the workmanship really shines through and itβs given our house much needed ventilation and breath ability but just as importantly, improved it aesthetically immeasurably, I wouldnβt hesitate to recommend archer brick and stone for any work and have done so to my neighbours who have similar older properties requiring care and attention, I was so impressed with the whole service I went round the house thinking of other jobs I could get them to do! Absolutely top notch."
"Highly recommend Jake and the team. We recently had our house repointed with lime mortar and I was extremely impressed with the level of service from the first visit, right through to the completion of the work. Jake was very knowledgeable and they did an excellent job. We were delighted with the final result. Also worth mentioned that they worked extremely hard as well, even putting in hours on the Saturday and Sunday (during a heatwave!) to get the job completed. Excellent. Donβt keep looking, youβve found the right people to hire."
"We recently had our house repointed in lime mortar by Archer Brick and Stone, and we are delighted with the results. Our home looks amazing (even with the scaffolding still hiding most of it). I had met with various companies, many of whom suggested that using a cement mortar would be fine (and some even recommended coating the bricks with a water repellent). However, I knew we wanted to be sensitive to the age of the property and undo some of the more modern additions the house had acquired over the years. Thankfully I found Jake, who is both knowledgeable and passionate about the benefits of using traditional materials to preserve and enhance period buildings. The team are all genuinely great guys and were a pleasure to have working on the house. They were very considerate, taking the time to notify neighbours and clean cars after particularly dusty days of grinding out. We couldnβt be happier and highly recommend you get in touch with them!"
"I would highly recommend Jake and his team if you need your house pointing. Our neighbours and friends have said how great the house looks. Jake was flexible to fit in with our busy schedule. He and his men came every day, on time. It was November and it was freezing. They came every day and did a through job of cleaning up after themselves daily. They organised the scaffolding, so we didn't have to. They gave us a really competitive price and I am a happy customer. I would highly recommend Jake to anyone needing a job done well."
